Andhra Pradesh, the third largest state in India, is said to have been the home of the Pre- Dravidian dark colored inhabitants. The state located in South India, was once a part of the Mauryan Empire during the reign of Emperor Ashoka. Andhra Pradesh, known as the Rice Granary of India is a favorable tourist state in India. The medieval city of Hyderabad is its capital. The main languages that are spoken in Andhra are Telugu, English, Urdu, Hindi.
The famous tourist spots in Andhra Pradesh are Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, Charminar, Golconda Fort in Hyderabad and Buddhist viharas at Nagarjunasagar. The state had been an important seat of rich Buddhist heritage.

Andhra Pradesh has also the largest IT park and Ramoji Film City, the largest Film City in Asia. The state is famous for lacquer toys and beautiful weaves; rich literature and the vibrant Kuchipudi dance.
Andhra Pradesh has several museums, including the Salar Jung Museum, which features a varied collection of sculptures, paintings and religious artifacts. Another museum is the Archaeological Museum, which features Buddhist and Hindu sculptures and other antiques. Both museums are located in Hyderabad.
The rich heritage and culture of Andhra Pradesh are reflected in the culinary skills of its people. The delicious Andhra cuisine, which is a combination of the South and Deccan, is the spiciest of all Indian cuisine. The vegetarian cuisine is largely popular with only the coastal areas showing a marked preference for seafood. But, it also has many non-vegetarian dishes which are spicy and unique in taste.
