Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is a state of India. Raipur constitutes the capital of this Indian state. As far as the area is concerned, Chattisgarh ranks tenth among the largest states situated in India. This particular state of India has Madhya Pradesh on its northwestern side, the state of Maharashtra on its western part, Andhra Pradesh on its southern side, the state of Orissa in the east. Chattisgarh possesses a total number of sixteen districts. These sixteen districts of Chattisgarh include Bastar, Dantewada, Durg, Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Jashpur, Kawardha, Koriya, Raigarh, Korba, Raipur, Surguja, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Kanker , and Rajnandgaon. However it is in the month of May in 2007 that two more districts called Bijapur and Narayanpur have been recognized.

As far as the politics is concerned, four principal parties are there in the state of Chattisgarh. The parties are Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gondwana Party , Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party. Ajit Jogi became the first chief minister of Chattisgarh. There are a considerable number of educational institutions that have their existence in the state of Chattisgarh. The universitiesof Chattisgarh which are authorized the government include Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Hidayatullah National Law University, Indira Kala Sangeet University, Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Guru Ghasidas University, Kushabhau Thakre Patrakarita Avam Jansanchar University, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, and Pandit Sundarlal Sharma University.



In most of the Chattisgarh schools and colleges , the medium of language is hindi.Chhattisgarh possesses a very promiant cultural tradition. Dances like Soowa, Raut Nacha, Panthi are celebrated local dances. Pandwani is a musical style narrating the epic story of Mahabhatrata.
