Sabarmati Ashram: This is among the most important tourist attractions in Gujarat. People from round the globe flock to Ahmedabad to have a feel of the magic of the place called Sabarmati Ashram. This is the Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi located on the bank of the river named, Sabarmati. From this very place Gandhiji started the historical ‘Dandi March’. The ashram now houses the memorabilia of Mahatma Gandhi inside a museum.

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad is called the ‘Manchester of the East’, because of the numerous textile milles and the large amount of textile production in those mills. Ahmed Shah once ruled this city and later the city was named after him. The monuments built in the 15th century feature delicate fineries of a nice blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture.

Patan: The city of Patan also attracts tourists for the nice architectural wonders present there.



Somnath Temple: This is one of the mostly visited tourist attractions in Gujarat. This temple is famous for its 12 Jyotirlingas or Shiva Shrines. During the Mughal rule this temple was ransacked and destroyed a number of times (according to records seven times). Later on the temple was rebuilt at the same spot.
