The financial capital of India, Mumbai is one of the largest tourist attractions in Maharashtra. Located in the north of the Indian Peninsula, Maharashtra is bordered by the Arabian Sea in the West and the state of Gujarat in the north. Maharashtra is a combination of varied culture. Mumbai hosts some of the most magnificent tourist attractions in Maharashtra. Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India, Hanging Gardens, Mahalaxmi Temple, Haji Ali Shrine, Marine Drive, the beaches of Juhu and Chowpatty are some of the well known and most popular places in Mumbai. Other popular tourist attractions in Maharashtra include a lot of names. One such is the Elephanta Caves located only 10 kms off the Mumbai coast. A host of caves are located in an island amid the Arabian Sea. You can take a motor boat ride to the magnificent caves.

Aurangabad is one of the major tourist attractions in Maharashtra. The city is more known for its Ajanta and Ellora caves. However, it has its own share of tourist attractions. The Pench National Park is one of the educative tourist attractions in Maharashtra. It offers a splendid opportunity to see a wide variety of wildlife in the spectacular natural setting. Pench is home to tigers, panthers, sambhar, chital, barking deer, nilgai, black buck, gaur, wild boar, chausingha, sloth bears, langurs, monkeys, mouse deer, hyenas and flying squirrels, to name a few. While you are in Mumbai do not miss out the Haji Ali shrine and a visit to Bandstand at Bandra is a must, not to mention the Queens Necklace down Marine Drive in the evening.
